The race started in 1977 with 437 entrants and had the largest turnout in 1991 with 1696 runners . The course is one of the main reasons for the Jog's notoriety. It is generally considered to be flat, fast and accurate. National age-group, as well as hundreds of personal records, have been set on its friendly confines. Conversely the Jog can be one tough lady and it is prudent to accord the course the respect she deserves. Proceeds from the race will be donated to The News-Herald's Newspaper in Education program throughout Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula and portions of Cuyahoga counties. Your donation provides newspapers for the classrooms.
