Congratulations!
On Saturday afternoon, 4 Trumbull County standout runners led the Eastern Buckeye Track Club through the mud and rain to a 5th place finish at the USA Track and Field Club Cross Country National Championships in Bethlehem, PA. This was the best finish by an Ohio team in the history of the event. Bobby Johnson from McDonald finished 54th, Eric Rupe and Andy Morgan from Maplewood finished 82nd and 126th, and Ryan Sullivan from Howland finished 121st. The top five scorers were completed by Malone University standout, George McCartney, who paced the group finishing 53rd. The top 7 was rounded out by Nate Boyer of Malone University (225th) and Alan Burns (235th) of Boardman. The team of Ohio runners beat a handful of fully sponsored professional teams, trailing only some of the best club teams in the nation. The race was the largest in the history of the event with 617 finishers in the men’s race and 76 teams.
